I, like many of us, have been working from home since around mid-March, and I must say, I love it! I love that I don’t have to spend 2 hours a day commuting (albeit, I have listened to far fewer podcasts in this period). I love that I don’t have to engage in small talk with Karen in the canteen — No, Karen, I don’t have any exciting weekend plans… just like the previous 3 weeks you've asked me! But most of all, I love how I have complete control over what I eat for lunch — so if I want to chop Nigerian Egusi soup and Eba at 12 pm just before a meeting, I will do so with my head held high (if you don’t know what it is, I have been kind enough to provide a link for you here). Enough chit chat, let’s get into it…

With little to no notice, millions of Britons suddenly had to leave their personalised desks, drop their work cacti, abandon their 6-way adjustable chairs and flee to their homes to work until “further notice”. If anything, despite the fear of the ravaging pandemic, there was almost a sense of adventure with the employee base to see how this all unfolded. The same cannot be said for leadership and management. Within these circles, questions around dipping productivity, loss of client/customer interaction, and not being able to keep an eye on employees…
