Happy holidays y’all! So, I’ve pretty much been ill this whole festive period, which is extremely annoying. I think the worst thing about it is that it has significantly decreased my appetite, meaning I have been surrounded by amazing food but no ability to eat. I guess I get to keep my current dress size for another year (silver lining, yay).

Despite the fact that I am no behavioural psychologist or anything of the sort, the simplicity and potential ubiquity of Nudge Theory has really interested me over the last few years; so today, I can fly through it with you… Let’s goooo

As you’d imagine, when significant business decisions are being made, a new strategy is being curated, or new government policy is being instated, we look back. Back at what past data show in way of trends and hence, projections. We can map out our confidence in a plan based on how successful something similar was here or elsewhere & there is great power in that. All of this data can give you an insight into whether Harrods should open a branch in Tottenham or maybe even what type of hair gel your nan will buy. But fundamentally, all of these require changes to human behaviour — and this is what Nudge Theory is all about.
