There are moments where I feel as though I am the most productive person on earth, then on occasion I reflect on my life as I sit on my bed with a tub of Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough (the best flavour… argue with me at your peril) watching a video on how much Drake spent on his outfit backstage at his show in London in April 2019 ($980,000 if you don’t want to watch the video). But I’m back behind my computer writing something relatively useful.

As the title implies, there is something clearly different about my generation in comparison to the generation that preceded us (Baby Boomers) and indeed to the one that follows (Generation Z). Is it the fact that we are comfortable spending just shy of $1M on an outfit, or is it deeper than that? For context, researchers and popular media typically classify Millennials as people born between the early 1980s the mid-1990s to early 2000s (cheers, Wiki). Born in 1994, I just snuck in… but what exactly have I actually snuck into?

The element I’ll focus on are the evolving needs of the Millennial workforce; I will also touch on the differences in cultural identity. So, let's get cracking…

Millennials and Cultural Identity
